PADA Cup at Orchard draws power roster
Cars and clubs. They’re such a perfect combination. The Philippine Automotive Dealers Association held a unique two-in-one event at the Orchard Golf and Country Club in Dasmarinas on Monday, bringing members and guests to the course for a golf competition, while showcasing the latest model cars in a one-day only exhibition.
Golfers or not, dealers came to lend their support to the PADA’s major re-launching activity that was well supported by the brands, banks, insurance firms, suppliers and the media.
The presidents of Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (Mutsuhiro Oshikiri), Nissan Philippines (Atsushi Najima), Isuzu Philippines Corp. (Hajime Koso), Geely Philippines (Mikihisa Takayama) and MINI, Rolls Royce and Lotus (Willy Tee- Ten) joined their business partners in an enjoyable round at the Palmer course under the clear, sunny skies.
Adding spice to the event was the display of the latest models of high-end and sporty vehicles that included the Lotus Evora, the Toyota Supra, the Nissan GTR and Patrol Royale, the Mitsubishi Montero Sport, the Hyundai Palisade and Kona EV, the Suzuki Jimny, the Geely Coolray, JAC S3, MG ZS, Ssangyong, Foton Gratour IM6 and Honda Type R.
On the sidelines, companies showcased and offered products to enhance engine performance, beautify and protect interiors and exteriors and even how to provide customers with the best loans.
Brixton Aw, president of X-1R distributor Creative Sparx, Inc., romped off with the overall title with a System 36 net 69. Other winners were Gil Angeles and Lincolm Lim in the Executive Division; Ed Brocal and Wayne Tee Ten in the main PADA Golf Cup; and George Elazegui and Dong Tan in the sponsors and guests. Mark Halili drove a 295-yard tee shot to win the longest drive award.
Tee Ten and Sornet led the list of runners-up, together with Jeff Rolida, Koso, Allen Lim, Luis Penson, Caloy Soriano, Ryan Jarina, Michael Golez, sports columnist Al Mendoza, and Rommel Juan, in the tournament presented by Standard Insurance, Goldplan, People’s Insurance, Impenetra Armor Protective Systems and Chevron Philippines.
