MANILA, Philippines — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is set to conduct on Thursday a dry run of its traffic plan for the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games along Edsa and other major roads.
The agency said in an advisory that during the dry run, convoys will be coming from various hotels within Metro Manila and other parts of Southern Luzon, Metro Manila, Clark, and Subic.
A stop-and-go traffic scheme will be implemented during the simulation exercise, the MMDA said.
The yellow lane on Edsa will also be used by the convoys going to the Philippine Arena, the venue of the opening ceremony of SEA Games 2019.
The MMDA earlier identified traffic chokepoints and several areas where traffic disruptions could occur during the SEA Games.
The SEA Games will be held in the country from Nov. 30 to Dec. 11.
Thousands of athletes, sports officials, coaches, spectators are expected to gather at sports and non-sports venues within the metropolis during the 12-day event, the MMDA said. /je –By: Daphne Galvez
