We have posted more photos from the opening day of Ferrari World Abu Dhabi. Tickets cost AED 225 to 375 (about P2600 to P4300), plus of course the cost of getting yourself there. Despite that, the customers seem to be grinning themselves silly–just the kind of thing we’d expect from a Ferrari.

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to ride in a Formula One car? Or wanted to be part of an F1 pit crew? Of course you have. Now you can—sort of—in Ferrari World, a theme park opening today in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the United Arab Emirates. Ferrari World, the world’s first to be based on the Pracing Horse’s cars and racing program, boasts of the world’s fastest roller coaster. The Formula Rossa coaster is a 240 km/h monster that starts within the airconditioned enclosure of the park, then shoots up over 20 stories and down again to simulate the G-forces of an F1 car.
The park is on Yas Island, right next to the circuit that will host the season finale next month. The Middle East location is aimed to attract the wealthy local populace as well as tourists that the country wants to bring in.

The park’s red roof is “inspired by the classic double curve side profile” of the Ferrari GT body, and spans over 200,000 square meters. The largest Ferrari logo will be planted on that roof. It will house the largest collection of current and classic Ferrari race cars outside the company’s headquarters, and of course, an Italian restaurant inspired by the famous Mamma Rossella in Maranello.
