Foton PH looks back at its milestones for 2019
It was another milestone year for United Asia Automotive Group, Inc. (UAAGI) and FOTON Motor Philippines, Inc. (FMPI) which recently held its annual Dealer’s Appreciation Night, and capping its 2019 achievements for successfully completing its requirements for being an ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management Systems certified company conducted by Integrated Assessment Services Ltd. The certification was officially awarded to UAAGI and FMPI President Rommel Sytin during the company’s year-end celebration last December at Fontana Leisure Parks and Casino in Clark, Pampanga.
“We are proud to say that our company has obtained an established and documented quality management system, training of people, and periodic assessment or audit, to ensure effectiveness, adequacy and relevance of the system in UAAGI and FMPI,” shared president Rommel Sytin.
Established in 2006, the company has been the sole and official distributor of FOTON vehicles including passenger vehicles; light-, medium-, and heavy-duty trucks; and heavy machinery in the country. In just 10 years after its inauguration, it opened its 11-hectare assembly plant in the Clark, Pampanga—the first and the only automotive production facility in Clark Freeport Zone. The following year, it landed 12th place in ranking in 2017, and FOTON PH leaped to 9th place and for the first time landed within the top ten automotive brands in 2018 and last year, it was able to maintain its ranking.
It was also late last year that UAAGI officially announced that it inked its partnership with Chinese auto brand Chery to be its exclusive Philippine distributor. Chery is the largest passenger vehicle exporter in China.
“As one of the leading automotive brands in the Philippines, it is vital for us to meet the terms of all local and international regulatory requirements. The UAAGI and FMPI’s efforts to improve its operations showcase our commitment to protect our employees, customers, contractors and service providers,” he added.
Other highlights include opening of four additional dealerships—Pasig, Puerto Princessa (Palawan), Bacoor (Cavite) and Metro Clark, adding to its growing network of 3S dealerships (sales, service and spare parts). “Continual improvement means there’s no end to the process. And I know that through my team’s hard work, we will be able to fulfill the requirements today and in the future. We will strive to identify current and future customer needs, to meet their requirements and to exceed their expectations,” Sytin disclosed.
During the evening, FOTON PH also gave several awards including the coveted Dealer of the Year, won by FOTON Marilao. The same dealership also won best rookie dealer last year. With 29 dealerships nationwide, Foton PH annually recognizes its best performing dealers that has sustained the brand to a 4 percent growth last year.
