Nissan rolls out Service on Wheels program

By Jason K. Ang Philippine Daily Inquirer February 09,2020

Bringing in your car for service (not upgrades or tuning, mind you) must be one of a motorist’s least favorite tasks, ranking somewhere between buying socks and getting a tooth pulled. If the scheduling and service is just right, it takes just a couple of hours. Get it wrong and it can eat up the better part of a day.

Carmakers in these parts have been realizing that service is one of the most important aspects of customer satisfaction—perhaps the most important aspect. So they have been trying to make service as pleasant as possible. The past years have seen initiatives from making the dealer waiting area resemble a coffee bar or home theater, to having personnel pick up and deliver one’s car for the prescribed service.

One idea that has been around for quite a while but has only recently been picking up speed is: bringing the service center to the customer. This 2020, Nissan Philippines aims to further satisfy its legions of new customers by rolling out its new “Service on Wheels” program.

Nissan wants to post excellent customer satisfaction metrics by providing better service for all those shiny new Nissans that the company has sold recently. The Service on Wheels program enables the service centers, or at least their most useful equipment, to drive to their customers’ homes and offices. As the ultimate in service convenience, this will make life easier for Nissan owners by providing house calls for aftersales service and repairs. It will also expand Nissan’s capabilities for its roadside assistance program.

Each Service on Wheels vehicle contains all the necessary equipment to provide preventive maintenance and do quick repairs. Also possible are vehicle diagnosis and replacement of consumables such as tires, brakes and batteries. The mobile service centers will be manned by two Nissan-certified technicians.

Nissan is already rolling out the Service on Wheels program to select dealerships across the Philippines.

“Service on Wheels is a way for Nissan to extend our expertise in vehicle care outside our service centers. This gives a new and exciting dimension to our reliable services by delivering satisfaction to our customers, wherever they are,” says Atsushi Najima, President and Managing Director of Nissan in the Philippines.

With initiatives like this, Nissan wants to bolster its position as the number three automotive brand in the Philippines. The company earned the Nissan Global Award for Financial Year 2019 as a top sales performer worldwide.

“Nissan’s continued growth annually is the result of the company’s focus on the fundamentals. We aim to sustain our growth in the years to come with innovative products, reliable services, a strong dealer network, and a vibrant company culture of talented people. As always, our customers are our first priority and we’d like to thank our Filipino customers for their continued support,” said Atsushi Najima.

Nissan customers can contact the Nissan Customer Assistance Center Hotline at (+632) 8403-6593 or 0927-600-9557 or their nearest Nissan dealership to inquire about Service on Wheels.
