Race online to help frontliners on April 20

The global pandemic and subsequent enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) made spectator sports events (or any form of event for that matter) impossible to happen these days. Thankfully,  Tuason Racing School (TRS), in partnership with Phoenix Pulse, is giving racing and car enthusiasts a chance to lend a helping hand in the country’s fight against the COVID-19 virus. Not only this event will give motorsports enthusiasts an adrenaline-pumped virtual racing action, but using the Phoenix Petroleum Young Drivers Program for Esports, virtual racers are given a chance to represent the country to the FIA Games later in the year. In addition, TRS and Phoenix Pulse is committing one frontliners meal for every race participant on April 20, 2020. These meals will be donated to different hospitals in Metro Manila.  

According to TRS, this new form of grassroots virtual competition complements other programs activated organized by TRS such as the Giti- Formula V1 Race Challenge and the Toyota Vios Racing Festival. Interested e-racers can register for free through the Tuason Racing facebook page or the link – https://bit.ly/2Xrk03X. They can choose to enter the YDP search or just racefor a good cause. Special prizes await participants and spectators.

The race will be live-streamed via Facebook live and will be hosted by Tuason Racing CEO and Founder JP Tuason. “Expanding into E-sports is one of the highlights of our 21st year in the business. We have been bringing racers to compete all over the world. This time we are opening another career ladder, a virtual one,” said Tuason. “With the ongoing situation, we believe we can hit two birds with one stone, first is to be able to do our part and help frontliners. The second one is to provide racing enthusiasts a worthwhile activity while they stay home and help flatten the curve.” He added.

Additional Requirement for racers joining the Young Drivers Program Search to be eligible for the YDP search should have a valid passport for travel until June, 2021. Participants must be willing to complete the three stages of the search, which may include an on-ground competition.
