BMW PH announces 3 new models, 5-year warranty on its vehicles

By Alvin Uy June 13,2020

Just days before Metro Manila went on GCQ (greater community quarantine), SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp. (SMC ACDC), the official importer and distributor of BMW in the Philippines, held a virtual presscon with the motoring media and announced the introduction of new programs and arrival of its new models. SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp. president Spencer Yu said that these programs and products are aimed at providing better services and experiences for guests and clientele.

Starting June 1st, all brand-new BMW vehicles sold by its dealers will be adopting the five-year or 200,000-kilometer warranty. This warranty covers all mechanical and electrical components, although they clarified that it does not cover preventive maintenance or wear and tear items. Needless to say, all replaceable items and parts covered by the warranty are always replaced by Original BMW Parts.

Yu said that this is an industry-leading warranty for the premium vehicle segment, where new customers can take advantage of the affordable costs of BMW ownership, coupled with the peace of mind that this program brings.  This comes at a time when the market for premium cars is expected to go south by about 50%, so its strategy to woo in customers who have the means but are reluctant to make a new purchase will be encouraged to avail of BMW’s Five-Year Warranty which is also transferrable in the event that the vehicle is sold. With this program, it will also help preserve the resale value of these cars in the future.

SMC ACDC also announced that it is reintroducing its BMW Service Inclusive (BSI) which allows customers to purchase packages that will cover the preventive maintenance costs of their new brand-new BMW vehicle for a period of five years or 60,000 kilometers. The program is also has an option where the customer may also avail of packages with higher mileage limits up to five-years or 100,000 kilometers to accommodate more frequent or daily use. With the BSI and 5-year warranty, BMW owners will have better peace of mind and practically worry-free ownership experience.

BMW Philippines also opened a new digital site so potential buyers do not need to go to a physical showroom to learn more about its new offerings. Called the “BMW Digital Showroom”, it is part of BMW’s aim to increase its digital footprint and develop community engagement with existing and aspiring owners. At first glance, this site reveals attractive price promos not found in its parent website. Customers may now visit https://bethefirst.bmw.com.ph/digitalshowroom/ to explore the latest from BMW online.

Yu also announced that BMW Philippines has three new variants of its popular models. First is the BMW 520i Sport, which features new and sportier exterior design elements including a set of 19-inch wheels. The BMW 520i Sport is powered by the same 2.0-liter BMW TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder engine as the business variant but is attractively priced at Php 4,290,000 aimed at attracting the entry-level buyers of the 5-Series.

BMW Philippines also added the X3 xDrive20d Business model to its line up featuring a new exterior trim and design elements and is powered by 2.0-liter BMW TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder diesel engine. The BMW X3 xDrive20d Business is priced at Php3,990,000.

The last and most exciting introduction was the BMW Z4 M40i Frozen Edition, with only five units allocated for the Philippine market. This beauty carries the Frozen Grey II paintwork from BMW Individual and is powered by a 3.0-liter BMW TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder gasoline engine has also been updated to offer 387 hp and 500 Nm of torque – 47 more horsepower than the regular Z4 M40i. The BMW Z4 M40i Frozen Edition is priced at Php 5,990,000.

“We are very excited to bring these new products and share the improvements we’ve made for our customers and aspiring BMW owners. Not only are we offering more options in terms of vehicles, but we are also making sure that we come up with services that make the whole BMW experience as enjoyable as it can be. Strengthening our presence digitally is one of our main thrusts, and the BMW Digital Showroom is an exciting way to learn more about the brand and offer a convenient way for visitors to interact with our dealership network.” Said Yu.
