Aside from the Jaguar I-Pace, Land Rover Philippines also introduced the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV). Rated with a combined power of 404 PS and 640 Nm of torque, it has a combined range of 700 kms for hybrid mode and a pure electric range of 50 kms. Plug-in charge time takes only 2 hours and 45 minutes using a 7 Kw wall mount charger that is included in the sales package with every unit of Range Rover PHEV. Range Rover globally celebrates its 50th Anniversary of luxury and all-terrain innovations, All British Cars, the exclusive distributor of Land Rover vehicles in the Philippines, announces two new additions to its refined all-terrain SUVs, the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicles, in their new BGC Boutique Showroom.

Both variants are the second hybrid SUVs to be introduced locally. The first one being the Range Rover Evoque mild hybrid electric vehicle introduced last year. Range Rover PHEV variants uses the 2.0-liter Ingenium Turbocharged Petrol engine with a 85kW electric motor to complete the hybrid system. These vehicles use a 13 kWH high-voltage lithium-ion battery that can be charged from zero to full in 2 hours and 45 minutes. Both PHEV models are capable of regenerative braking; it can harness the energy during deceleration, adding to the vehicle’s range and fuel economy.

On paper, these two can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 6.7 and 6.8 seconds respectively, both with a top speed of 220 km/h. In its default Parallel Hybrid mode, both the internal combustion engine and electric motors proper the vehicle that uses either the SAVE function which prevents the battery charge from dropping below a preset level or the PEO (Predictive Energy Optimization) function which the vehicle uses the navigation system with GPS altitude date for a pre-selected route to operate it on the better possible EV-petrol engine power combination to maximize fuel economy. The full EV mode can also be selected with a range of about 50 kms. The EV mode will of course have zero emissions but under the hybrid mode, the PHEV Range Rovers will only produce 64g/km of CO2 and achieve 2.8 liters per 100 km fuel economy based on NEDC European standards.

The Range Rover PHEV is available in Vogue standard wheelbase at Php 11,490,000 and Autobiography long wheelbase at Php 15,190,000, while the Range Rover Sport is priced at Php 9,490,000. These plug-in hybrid electric vehicles already come with a Type 2 Plug 7 kWh wall charger. Installation costs are not included, since cost will vary per household. Additional chargers cost Php 105,000 (installation not included). Just like the Jaguar I-Pace, these vehicles come with an eight-year, 160,000-kilometer, 70 percent health state warranty.
