Hyundai to launch all-new Accent in December

November 25,2010

The Toyota Vios and Honda City will soon be taking a long look at their rear-view mirrors: Hyundai is launching the all-new Accent on December 2. First to arrive will be the 1.5-liter gasoline automatic variant (probably a six-speed automatic). Without the diesel model that is currently a hit among taxi and corporate fleets, the new Accent will not be able to storm the sales charts just yet, but private buyers will be very interested.

The new exterior follows the styling theme of the Sonata, with its so-called “Fluidic Sculpture” design. Whether it will age well is impossible to predict, but right now it looks quite more interesting than market leader Vios.

The Korean-market Accent has a surprisingly long list of features like stability control, six airbags, navigation system, keyless go, leather interior, etc., but we don’t expect all of those to make its way here. It will have the largest interior room in its class, with a wheelbase extended by 70mm (to 2570mm). Length is at 4370 and width is 1700mm.

The photos are of the Korean version, so as they say, photos will vary from the actual unit.
