Cars We Can Have: Honda Jazz facelift: CVT and a better ride

November 30,2010

The Honda Jazz will receive a facelift, interior upgrades and revised mechanicals next year. The new face will include projector headlights, and new front and rear bumpers. The bumpers have been redesigned to reduce drag and rear turbulence, for a slight increase in aerodynamic efficiency, from a CD of 0.336 to 0.33.

Mechanically, the most significant change will be the return of the CVT transmission, also improved for better driving response. The suspension will also be retuned for a better ride, something that a lot of Jazz owners and test drivers (including us) have been clamoring for.

The interior also gets a makeover, with leather seats and trim, and a splattering of chrome around the air vents and aircon switches. The dashboard material is also made from a new, darker material. The ULT seats will have a new reclining function.

The new kid in the stable will be the Jazz Hybrid, capable of 22.2 km/liter. The announced changes are for the European market, so we hope all that goodness will come our way next year too.
