Porsche has confirmed plans to produce a compact SUV, as well as its name: Cajun. The Cajun will slot in below the Cayenne, which may ultimately be discontinued. The European markets find it too large and fuel thirsty, although the SUV is in great demand in America, China, and the Middle East.
The Cajun will be designed by Walter de Silva and as part of its closer ties to VW after being taken over by the larger firm. The Cajun is expected to share a platform with the Audi Q5 and will probably debut by 2014.
