From the ignominy of the ironically-named Pride to the competency of the decent Picanto, Kia has come a long way. Kia has released the first official design sketches of the next-generation Picanto. The new Picanto will be unveiled at Geneva in March and will go on sale in the first half of next year, hopefully in the Philippines too.
As expected, the car has the brand’s “tiger face” grille, as well as Toyota iQ-like proportions. A grinning bumper similar to Mazda’s Joker face seems to be in the works, too.
The new car was styled by Kia’s European design team based in Frankfurt, Germany, under the direction of Chief Design Officer, Peter Schreyer and is supposed to exude “self-confidence, solidity and maturity.”
