Driving in winter is no one’s idea of a fun time, except for the Finns. So it’s no surprise that Mercedes picked its most famous one for a demo of how a good four-wheel drive system helps. The video commercial stars its former star driver Mika Hakkinen, and the company’s most recent hire. Appropriately called “Sunday driver”, the video shows Mr. Hakkinen overtaking Herr Schumacher on a winding mountain pass. If you’re hoping for a reprise of what is acknowledged as the best pass in F1 history, you might be disappointed. Otherwise, it’s an amusing minute spent with the protagonists of the greatest F1 rivalry in recent memory (Alonso and Petrov notwithstanding).
