Chevrolet is set to put a new, er, spin on the MPV market when it launches the Spin B-segment MPV in August. The Spin is based on a passenger-car platform, and will be the longest and widest in its class, with a wheelbase similar to a C-segment car’s.
The Spin will seat seven in three rows of seats. It will feature versatile reconfigurable seating, ABS brakes and dual airbags, iPod-Bluetooth integration, and dual airconditioning system.
Spin will be powered by a 1.3-liter diesel or a 1.5-liter dohc gasoline engine. The diesel will mate to a five-speed manual gearbox while the gasoline will have a six-speed automatic.
Spin will compete with the Toyota Avanza, Nissan Grand Livina and Suzuki APV.
