You know you’ve reached the pinnacle of popularity when you get your own TV show or movie. In Japan, you know you’re popular when you have your very own anime.
Well, it’s been announced that Subaru–the carmaker renowned for its Impreza has teamed up with Gainax, a major anime studio to produce a new collaborative project entitled, “Hokago no Pleiades” or literally translated as “Afterschool Pleiades”. For those who still don’t know, Pleiades is the English name of the six-star cluster that the Japanese call “Subaru”–the origin of the car maker’s name and six-star logo.
Along with the announcement, Gainax has announced that some industry heavy hitters are involved in the project including Shouji Saeki (director of “Strike Witches”), Hiroshi Kato (art director of “Neon Genesis Evangelion”).
The project is expected to drop this winter. But while you wait…here’s the teaser video for you. Hope you can read Japanese though.
