Wonderkid leads the MotoGP Championship

What were you doing when you were in your 20’s? Attending college? Looking for employment? Working? Starting a family?

Well, if you are Marc Marquez, you would be in the premier motorcycle racing championship, the MotoGP.

After securing his second victory in eight races, in his rookie season, he now leads the championship standings over the likes of Jorge Lorenzo, Dani Pedrosa, and some bloke named Valentino.  Marquez is definitely living up to the hype of being the up and coming star of MotoGP.

This past weekend at the eni Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland at Sachsenring Germany, saw Marc take pole from Carl Crutchlow and 9 time World Champ Valentino Rossi. Marquez had a good start but the German Stefan Bradl had a better one, the more than 85,000 in attendance went wild as their home hero took the lead at the first corner with Rossi in 3rd, and Marc 4th, but never one to give up, the 20 year old phenom clawed his way back, and on lap 6 took over the lead, even posting the fastest lap time of 1’ 22.066 on lap 16; leaving the rest of the field to fight for the last 2 steps on the podium.

The next race is slated on the 19th of July, the Red Bull US GP at Laguna Seca . Will Jorge Lorenzo defy his doctors and return to the saddle? Will Dani Pedrosa reclaim his place on the Championship standings? Or will Marc Marquez make it 2 in a row?
