Sebastian Vettel, Formula 1 Triple World Drivers Champion was recently behind the wheel of a car that is vastly different from his regular weekend ride.
The town of Herten, in western Germany, played host to the Red Bull Soapbox Race. The “cars” are powered, not by a petrol engine but by the drivers’ legs, and, more importantly, gravity. In place is a 500 foot downhill ramp which allows the home-made cars to take flight and land in a sandbox.
Sebastian, dressed as Nintendo’s Super Mario, gamely drove his soapbox to the amusement of the crowd. His landing was in no way perfect, and his car did lose some of its parts along the way.
Sadly, he wasn’t able to save the Princess.
