In the zombie wasteland of “The Walking Dead,” Sheriff Rick Grimes and company can rely on very few things: a loaded revolver, a sharp katana, and a tensed crossbow. And one mint green Hyundai Tucson, which manages to not only fend off any zombie attacks but stay suspiciously clean all the time. For a follow up to the zombie-ready Elantra shown last year, Hyundai brought another zombie car to ComicCon, and this time it’s a battle-ready Veloster turbo hatchback.
Customized by Galpin Auto Sports, the Veloster features hand fabricated armor, saw blade tooth-like front grill, wrought iron caged headlights, chain link fenced armored tail lights, and sand bags with supply cargo hood mounts. The Veloster’s arsenal includes chainsaws, front horde plow, double barrow shotgun, machine gun, and flame thrower. Noise, fire and brimstone may not really be the right way to go through zombie land, but it certainly looks battle-ready. There’s also a 0.50 caliber machine gun mounted on the roof, trunk-mounted baseball bat, and wheel blades.
The Veloster is decked out in Vitamin C textured paint, the better to hide those zombie fluid stains.
Fans who want to design their own Zombie Survival Machine can visit https://walkingdeadchopshop.com/ The winning design will be built as a custom vehicle.
The Walking Dead season 4 crawls out on October 13.
