2011 Honda Jazz Ready to Bring the Fight to Ford Fiesta?

March 16,2011

Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) is set to thrill the motoring community with the introduction of its latest product offering: the 2011 Honda Jazz!

First presented to the local market in 2004, triggering the emergence of the hatchback niche, the Honda Jazz has revolutionized the small car segment with its complete lifestyle package. And now with the entry of its 2011 model, Honda is sure to put a smile on everyone’s faces as it offers the unbelievably spacious Jazz, now featuring aggressive styling.

The 2011 Honda Jazz sports dynamic styling in every angle. It features redesigned front and rear bumpers. Its front styling is further enhanced with its new mesh grille and reshaped headlights. Meanwhile, rear styling is carefully taken into account as it showcases a new rear cluster with LED tail lights. Foglamps, side sill garnish, and sport bumpers come exclusive for the 1.5 V while a new 15” alloy wheel design refreshes the 1.3 S variant. All these enhancements complement the exterior’s smooth flowing lines that give the Honda Jazz its distinctly spirited character.

The Honda Jazz never fails to deliver excitement to its occupants. Inside is an amber-lit instrument cluster and audio system to carry on that sporty atmosphere into the cabin. Long drives will always be full of life and energy while your favorite songs are playing. The new Honda Jazz comes compatible with iPOD and other MP3 players via USB and AUX port connectivity. To complement that free-spirited lifestyle, the Honda Jazz offers huge space with its U.L.T. (Utility, Long and Tall Modes) seats. This unique feature enables versatile seat arrangements for maximum space and functionality. It one-ups the competition with an unmatched cargo volume that easily handles one’s active lifestyle.

“Apart from sheer styling, the Honda Jazz is a vehicle of great substance. It stays true in delivering high quality performance, as evident in any other Honda model,” said Mr. Hiroshi Shimizu, President and General Manager of HCPI. The 1.5 liter Jazz comes with a paddle shift technology, just like the City, Civic and Accord models, to enable manual shifting of gears without the clutch. Powered by Honda’s renowned i-VTEC engine, the new Jazz is capable of delivering excellent fuel economy without sacrificing power output. It has a maximum power output of 100 ps at 6000 rpm for its 1.3 S, and 120 ps at 6600 rpm for the 1.5 V model. Its 5-speed automatic transmission ensures no compromise between power and efficiency. In delightfully keeping track of one’s instantaneous and average fuel mileage, a fuel consumption meter is neatly displayed on the instrument panel.

Radiating a strong sense of style that expresses its unique and vibrant persona, the Honda Jazz has become a cool fashion icon in the automotive industry. “And so, Honda aptly collaborated with renowned fashion designers, Ino Caluza and Veejay Floresca, in launching its latest model. Honda has challenged these talented designers to create an exclusive summer collection that takes inspiration from the Honda Jazz’ distinct demeanor: hip, active, trendy, young and fun,” said Mr. Voltaire Gonzales, Vehicle Sales and Corporate Communications Head of HCPI.

Today, more than 3.5 million units of Honda Jazz have been sold cumulatively around the globe, and the number keeps growing! Packed with innovative technologies, it is no surprise that the Honda Jazz has gained huge popularity and has reaped several recognitions here and abroad. Locally, the Honda Jazz has been the undisputed choice of the media for Most Fuel Efficient and Most Functional Passenger Cabin for three years in a row during the Auto Focus Automobile of the Year Awards. It was also named the 2010 Consumer Choice of the Year during the Annual C! Awards. Overseas, the Honda Jazz has won Japan Car of the Year that covers the years 2001-2002 and 2007-2008, the Japan Automotive Hall of Fame Association (JAHFA) Car of the Year Award and the Automotive Researchers and Journalists Conference of Japan (RJC) Car of the Year, to name a few.
