Realizing that cars, people, and the planet can thrive and coexist in one dynamic and sustainable biodiversity, Hyundai Asia Resources, Incorporated (HARI), the authorized distributor of Hyundai automobiles in the Philippines and a leading manufacturer of eco-environmental cars today, calls in all impassioned university students and eco-warriors to join in on its endearing drive for a green tomorrow.
Declaring a new collective advocacy for a greener and more progressive future, HARI will lead the first-ever automotive-sponsored eco-fun run in the country dubbed “The Hyundai Accent Run: An All-New Way to Play” on April 2, 2011 at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig, converging hundreds of students from Metro Manila’s topmost universities and nature buffs alike in one youth-oriented movement to increase awareness about eco-motoring and promote the companies’ nationwide advocacy for a cleaner and environmentally-stable future.
Envisioned to create a fresh new generation of responsible motorists among the country’s future leaders, the Hyundai Accent Run makes a daring shift of perspective about the auto industry, instilling in the minds of the youth the possibility that even a car company can also make a positive impact on the environment through its long-term partnership with Haribon Foundation, one of the nation’s most active environmental group and through its newly-launched fuel-efficient compact sedan, the all-new Hyundai Accent.
Striving to make a green difference in the highly-mechanical world of automotives, HARI veers towards the road to environmentalism and partners with Haribon to pace up to the group’s “1 Million Hectares of Rainforests by 2020” advocacy. Starting with reforestation initiatives in different parts of the country, last year saw its first tree-planting activities at the Yapak forest in Boracay and in Cavinti, Laguna to help sow the first seeds of its green mission for a better tomorrow.
This time, adding a new twist of play and mobility to give its eco-environmental efforts a much more exciting motoring identity, HARI sets its newest green activity at the lifestyle landscapes of Bonifacio Global City to bring together Metro Manila’s youngest leaders and eco-enthusiasts in one all-out force to saving the country’s ecosystem.
The Hyundai Accent Run is not just any other ordinary racing activity as it is the first running challenge to be sponsored by an automotive company to drive the Filipino community towards green motoring. Creating the newest generation of caretakers of Mother Earth, the Hyundai Accent Run makes it possible for college students and green thumbs to play a crucial role in the nation’s conservation efforts, providing them the opportunity to donate one (1) tree seedling per runner for the reforestation of many of the Philippine’s critical land areas that are being continuously denuded by natural and man-made causes.
Exemplifying HARI’s progressive stance for a cleaner environment, participants will get to partake in two (2) race mileages during the running activity––a 5-kilometer race for casual sprinters and a 10-kilometer route for more experienced racers––advancing a new era of eco-conscious motorists among the country’s future leaders.
Registration to the Hyundai Fun Run is FREE and will run from March 1 to 23, 2011 at select university campuses in Metro Manila. Register online at www.hyundaifunrun.com. For more race info or updates on registration dates and venues, add us on Facebook at “Hyundai Fun-Run.”
