STI fans, your prayers have been answered. After months of speculation whether the Subaru BRZ coupe will get a STI version or not, here’s their answer: the BRZ STI version will debut at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show this November.
Details are scarce at the moment, but Subaru did release a teaser shot of the BRZ STI along with a gigantic rear wing and quad-tip exhaust. This could pretty much *cross your fingers* point towards a turbo-charged version of the all-new FA20 2.0-liter Boxer engine.
We’ll have to wait by November 16 when the gates open in LA to get all the juicy bits on Subaru’s new rear-wheel drive sports car.
UPDATE: Apparently, word is out that although it will be called the Subaru BRZ STI, the STI team has left the FA 2.0-liter engine untouched. This means, it will still have 197 horsepower via normal aspiration driving the rear wheels.
