If ever there was one car that could double as the Batmobile straight from the showroom, it would have to be the McLaren F1. Exotic, unbelievably high-performance and rare as a sane person in Arkham, the big M wouldn’t even need a Bat logo to look like it had just rocketed from a cave beneath Wayne Manor.
Now, fiction follows real life as Professor Gordon Murray, the legendary designer of the McLaren F1, has created a vehicle for the Caped Crusader for Batman Live, a live-action stage/arena version of the DC comics superhero. The Batman Live Batmobile looks conspicuously like a Caparo T1, which was also developed by engineers from the McLaren F1 road car team.
Though we wouldn’t be the first in line to watch a show where Batman warbles his way while fighting crime, the sight of a Gordon Murray-designed Batmobile should be worth the price of admission.
