Toyota is set to release the third-generation Yaris in Europe this summer, with the rest of the world soon to follow. Based on the photos, the Yaris is still pretty much business as usual, with no major surprises. According to Toyota, the Yaris still follows the original concept of “compact outside, spacious inside.”
A key feature (at least in Europe) will be a multimedia system called Toyota Touch & Go, controlled by a 6.1-inch touchscreen. The system will be standard on almost all Yaris models. Toyota also promises high quality materials and surface finishes, as well as a more driver-focused cockpit.
The new Yaris will be available with 1.0 and 1.3-liter gasoline VVTi engines, as well as a 1.4-liter D4D diesel. We are thinking that Philippines and other Asean markets will retain the 1.5-liter VVTi engine.
