Audi Philippines launches the new R8 with “The Wolverine”

Audi Philippines officially launched the new Audi R8 at Audi Global City during the premiere of the much awaited Marvel movie “The Wolverine”.

The Wolverine, the most iconic character of X-Men Universe, showcases some of the sports car’s performance as he battles with unexpected and deadly opponents in a life-or-death combat that will change him forever.

The new R8 V8 4.2 quattro is more advanced than ever, with new performance elements such as the new seven-speed S-tronic gearbox which improves its acceleration from 0-100 kph in 4.3 seconds and continues to accelerate to its top speed of 300 kph. The R8’s V8 engine produces 430 hp but produces less CO2 emissions than its predecessor by 21 grams/km. The S-tronic transmission shifts gears within hundredths of a second and with virtually no interruption to tractive power and offers a sports mode which adjusts the shift pattern to extract the very best from it V8 engine.

The new R8 is further enhanced by a more aggressive grille, newly designed air inlets, full LED headlights and tail lights; and newly designed 19-inch alloy wheels. The interior is refined to exude the atmosphere of a sports car on a luxury level with Alcantara leather seats. The redesigned R8 badge appears at the tail of the car on the exterior, and on the interior: gearshift lever, door sill trims, instrument cluster, steering wheel, and the start screen of the on-board monitor. The instrument cluster, gear shift paddles have also been reworked and new chrome inserts have been added in several areas. The center console, the areas surrounding the radio and navigation system and handbrake lever are now covered with delicately stitched leather. Carbon sigma and black piano finish inlays are also available as options.
