MANILA, Philippines—Brace yourself for EDSA traffic even on the weekend, as the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Thursday that the Department of Public Works and Highways would be conducting reblocking and repair work on Edsa. Motorists are advised to take alternate routes to avoid the areas.
In a traffic advisory, the MMDA identified the affected areas as the stretch of Edsa between Boni Avenue and Guadalupe Bridge (southbound) in Mandaluyong City; between Guadalupe Bridge and South Drive (southbound, fifth lane) in Makati City; and between Don Ang Street and Gen. Tinio Street (northbound, fifth lane) in Caloocan City.
The repair work will start in these areas at 10 p.m. on Feb. 21 (Friday) and end at 5 a.m. on Feb. 24 (Monday). All roads will be fully passable by Monday morning, the MMDA said.
