Ferrari adds Apple CarPlay system to the FF supercar

March 17,2014

The Ferrari FF is already one of the most accessible super cars, as evidenced by its ability to travel to the beaches of Baler. Now the Italian manufacturer has added the user-friendly Apple CarPlay to its entertainment system, making it the first to offer the system. In Geneva, crowds reportedly gathered around the FF on the stand to try out the features.

Ferrari says that the new system from the Cupertino company is attracting not only the attention of motoring experts but also those from the technology and communications sectors who are getting a unique opportunity to see it in action in the FF. Since the Geneva Show opened, Apple and Ferrari technical staff have been inundated by requests from journalists and have been demonstrating CarPlay and its functionalities as well as explaining how it integrates with the car’s native system.

CarPlay allows Ferrari clients to use their iPhones in their cars in the simplest, safest possible way to make calls, use Maps, listen to music and access messages either by voice command or using the central touch-screen display.

Apple recently released an operating system update for its iPhone that includes CarPlay compatibility.
