New York 2014: Honda reveals all-new HR-V Compact SUV

By Jason K. Ang April 18,2014

Remember the Honda HR-V? The tall wagon that looked like a cross between a Civic and a coffin? It’s back, and in rather fine form. The all-new HR-V was revealed at the New York International Auto Show. This time, the HR-V will be built on the Fit/Jazz, making it Honda’s take on the Ford Ecosport class: the B-segment sized SUV. Details were sparse, but Honda revealed that the HR-V will have the Magic Seat / ULT rear seat, which folds in various ways to accommodate cargo. Honda calls it a ‘light truck’ that will be positioned below the CR-V in price and size. The HR-V will be available in the US by winter this year, and it will surely make its way to the ASEAN market as well.
