Luxury brand and design studio Porsche Design was founded in 1972 by Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche. He is also the father of the iconic Porsche 911, the sportscar and luxury car brand that also carries his family name up to now. Just like the timeless design of the Porsche 911, its products represent functional, timeless, innovative and highly purist designs. Professor F. A. Porsche left his position as Chief Designer at the Porsche AG (the sportscar brand) and founded Porsche Design. The Porsche Design Studio has been located in Austria since 1974. All of the brand’s products are designed from the Porsche Design Studio and are sold around the world in own shops, as well as in franchises, concessions, high-end department stores, exclusive specialist stores including two exclusive Porsche Design stores in Manila. The Porsche Design Store is located at mid-level 2/3 Shangri-la Plaza Mall East Wing and Ground Floor Resorts World Manila with tel. 8326413 or 0917-5399158.

Porsche still characterize Porsche Design’s products today: The designers start the design process by considering the function of each product. It was a revolution in the watch industry and became a favorite among watch enthusiasts with its titanium strap and PVD-coated housing. Such innovative functions and the use of exceptional materials are what still sets these watch models apart today. The watch is reminiscent of the non-reflective instruments found in racing cars, where everything but the numbers and the pointers are matte black. Transferred to the Chronograph I, the result is a black watch face with white lettering and luminous white pointers and dials. The only colored feature is the large second hand in red, allowing the wearer to tell the time with ease.
