Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) has already received 2,000 reservations for the all-new City since the introduction of the model last April 22.
The all-new City’s accumulated reservations in just a month show how HCPI’s primary model has successfully set new standards in the subcompact category.
With no price increase from the previous generation model (1.3-liter engine MT), customers can enjoy the all-new City with Honda’s improved 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine for as low as P756,000. The new and up-to-date technology integrated in the latest City is designed to achieve optimum power-to-weight ratio, giving it the capability to carry heavier loads and maximizing fuel economy at the same time.
HCPI is offering its new torque converter-equipped CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), developed under Honda’s Earth Dreams technology starting with its 1.5 E CVT. The new CVT allows seamless gear shifting, gives instantaneous throttle response and delivers exceptional fuel efficiency. At P796,000, the 1.5 E CVT (similarly priced to the previous City 1.3-liter engine AT) remains one of City’s best-selling variants.
Taking fuel economy a notch higher, the all-new City 1.5 E CVT and above variants are equipped with the Eco Assist system which features the ECON mode. Engage the ECON mode to control the engine, drive-by-wire, transmission and air conditioner, and further improve the vehicles already outstanding fuel efficiency. Furthermore, the 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine and the new CVT of the all-new City result in a 16-percent improvement on fuel efficiency, as compared with the 1.3-liter engine with automatic transmission of the previous City.
For added premium, select variants of the all-new City offer first-in-class features such as the 7-inch touchscreen display audio—the application of such equipment minimizes the use of buttons and makes it easier to operate while radiating a premium feel. The 7-inch touchscreen display audio features hands-free telephone (HFT), and audio streaming via Bluetooth connectivity and voice recognition control. The audio and Bluetooth HFT can be operated via the controls mounted on the leather-wrapped steering wheel. Just below the display audio unit is an automatic air-conditioning system, also with a user-friendly touch panel.
To further provide convenience to everyone on board, the all-new City is equipped with different ports for the auxiliary and USB, as well as for the HDMI to let you connect and mirror your smartphone on the display audio screen. On select variants, there are three accessory sockets at the front and rear for hassle-free gadget charging.
Together with driving performance and fuel efficiency, one of Honda’s primary thrusts is comprehensive methodology on vehicle safety.
“We knew, without an ounce of doubt, that the all-new City will make history for HCPI once it is launched. We are thrilled to be able to see it progressively happening already,” said Toshio Kuwahara, HCPI president and general manager. Designed in line with a vision that is ahead of its time, the all-new City successfully combines modernism with practicality that meets customers’ demands in a vehicle.
For only P5,000, those interested can reserve an all-new City and be ready to enjoy its sophisticated yet sporty look and space, beyond what is expected from a car in its class.
