Riding its steady momentum since last year, Chevrolet Philippines-The Covenant Car Company Inc. (TCCCI) continues its sustained growth for the first two quarters of 2014. It sold a total of 4,066 units for the first six months of the year, so far its all-time best half year performance. June sales totaled 701 units, resulting in one of the highest performing months for Chevrolet in the country.
Chevrolet thus achieved 79-percent growth so far this year, compared to the same period last year. As of May 2014, Chevrolet has also become the seventh overall top performer in the Philippine automotive industry, up from its 12th position in 2009.
“We are thankful for the steady and consistent growth of Chevrolet in the Philippines. This is an affirmation of the exceptional quality of our products and services, and is the reason why more and more people have decided to make Chevrolet their trusted road companion. The positive increase in sales this year further attests that the Chevrolet brand has indeed captured a significant share of the hearts and minds of the market, and has continued to establish itself as a significant player in the local automotive industry,” said Alberto B. Arcilla, president and managing director of Chevrolet Philippines-TCCCI.
Continuous demand
The “Bowtie” brand, as it has come to be known, noted that the continuously increasing demand for the turbo-diesel powerhouse team, namely the Chevrolet brand’s current bestseller the Chevrolet Trailblazer, the Chevrolet Colorado and the Chevrolet Spin, continues to be the reason behind its record performance since January. The Chevrolet Trailblazer was the strongest performer in the Chevrolet lineup as it sold 2,211 units in the first six months of the year, while the Chevrolet Spin sold 868 units in the first semester, averaging 145 units per month.
Equipped with the improved Duramax turbo-diesel engine and fitted with independent suspensions, the Chevrolet Trailblazer and Chevrolet Colorado can now produce 200 horsepower at 3,600 revolutions per minute and 500 Newton-meters of torque or pulling power, and can easily go over road imperfections, maintaining a smooth comfortable ride, during long drives.
The seven-seater, all-around Utility Vehicle Spin provides impressive road performance and fuel efficiency with its 1.3-liter CRDi turbo-diesel engine with manual transmission, or 1.5-liter Dual VVTi gasoline engine with six-speed automatic transmission and manual mode option.
In its quest to “Find New Roads,” Chevrolet offers other innovative products and equally excellent service, from the mini-passenger car Spark, subcompact hatchback or sedan Sonic, compact sedan Cruze, to the larger and impressive models like the compact SUV Captiva, MPV Orlando, as well as the new executive sedan Malibu.
Chevrolet also intends to showcase its excellent customer service through its ongoing free PMS (periodic maintenance service) promo. Clearly, the seeds and brand values which Chevrolet Phillippines-TCCCI planted in the minds and hearts of their stewards, dealer partners and the local market four years ago have begun to spring and grow. As a result, Chevrolet Philippines has marked its 22nd dealership in operation to serve the Philippine market, and expects to close the year with 29 dealerships.
