Pinoy pride and joy: two Filipino BMW executives move up the ladder

Peter “Sunny” Medalla is the first Filipino executive to head the regional office of Mini in Asia.

This July saw two Filipino BMW executives moving up the corporate ladder at the regional level. Earlier this month, Peter Medalla, or “Sunny” to his friends, was promoted to be the first Filipino executive to head the regional office of Mini in Asia.

Medalla met up with some Philippine motoring journalists today who were covering the 2014 BMW World event at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore. His watch would include the Philippine market for the Mini brand being exclusively distributed by the Autohub Group. Autohub CEO Willy Teeten was also seen at Marina Bay Sands to attend the same event.

Also in attendance at the BMW World event was BMW Asia Marketing Director Lito German, who candidly announced to the PH media group there that today marks the last day of his stint as marketing head for BMW Asia as he will start his new job as the Regional Director for BMW Motorrad Asia, the motorcycle division of BMW.

Although no specifics were revealed, he was hinting a number of new product developments for the motorcycle division that would address a broader market base for BMW riders. Under the leadership of these two seasoned auto executives, it is expected that more exciting developments that will enhance BMW’s and Mini’s presence in Asia, particularly in the Philippine market.
