DAGUPAN CITY—If you’re planning a road trip up north, an official of Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEx) advised motorists to plan ahead so they could avoid delays when traveling to northern Luzon for the All Saints’ Day weekend.

Tony Reyes, TPLEx marketing head, said a big volume of northbound vehicles were expected at TPLEx starting in the afternoon of Oct. 31 until early morning of Nov. 1.

TPLEx, which is connected to Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway and to North Luzon Expressway, will be an 88.85-kilometer expressway from Tarlac City to Rosario town, La Union province, when completed. At present, it stretches up to only Rosales town, Pangasinan province, where travelers exit to continue their trip to the Ilocos provinces and Baguio City.

“We had already prepared a week ago. We expect an about 20-percent increase in the volume of vehicles,” Reyes said in a telephone interview. Gabriel Cardinoza, Inquirer Northern Luzon
