joseph-ingcoMANILA, Philippines – The Quezon City Police said they have identified the driver of a Maserati sports sedan who assaulted a Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) traffic enforcer less than 24 hours after the incident took place on a busy Quezon City intersection.

Through verification with the Land Transportation Office, QCPD district director ‎Senior Superintendent Joel Pagdilao identified the owner of the luxury sports car as 39-year-old Joseph Ingco of New Manila.

‎On Thursday morning, Ingco allegedly beat up enforcer Jorby Adriatico ‎as he drove his blue Maserati from the intersection of G. Araneta and Quezon avenues until they reached Scout Chuatoco Street.

When shown the LTO photo of the car’s owner, Adriatico positively identified him as the driver who slugged him in the face.

In a phone interview, Chief Inspector Rodelio Marcelo, of the QCPD‎ Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit, said ‎the blue emozione Maserati Ghibli was traced through its conduction sticker QQ57.

Marcelo said the conduction sticker was seen through a closed-circuit television (CCTV) video near the area where the mauling took place.

In an earlier radio interview, MMDA chairman Francis Tolentino said there were only two Maserati Ghibli models sold in the Philippines, which made it easier for the police to track down the suspect.

“I want to meet him face to face. I want him to see the family of Adriatico,”‎ Tolentino. -Julliane Love De Jesus
