Pastor family getting death threats

December 04,2014

enzo-pastor-2The mother of murdered car racing champion and motorsports proponent Ferdinand “Enzo” Pastor revealed on Friday that family members have been receiving death threats over the last few months, even as the investigation into the murder is slowly proceeding.

Remy Pastor said the threatening anonymous text messages and calls started after the family sought assistance from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in June.

‎”We are receiving death threats. It seems they are all coming from one and the same group,” Pastor said in a phone interview with INQUIRER.net.

The most recent threat was a text message sent in the first week of November saying, “Malapit na kayong mamatay (You are going to die soon),” Pastor said.

“In the beginning, they were warning us to be careful because someone wants to hit me,” she said.

In June, the Pastors‎ had asked the NBI to conduct a parallel investigation into the ambush-slay of Enzo.

“Later on, someone called us and said, ‘Malapit ka nang mamatay. Kayong mag-asawa (You’re going to die soon. You and your spouse),’” Pastor said.

The threats became more frequent in September, after the alleged mastermind Domingo “Sandy” de Guzman Jr. and alleged gunman Police Officer 2 Edgar Angel were arrested in late August, Pastor said.

According to the Quezon City police and the NBI, Enzo’s wife Dahlia conspired with De Guzman, her purported lover.

Sometime in October, Enzo’s mother recalled that a man who did not identify himself called their office only to warn them through the company’s secretary that their days were numbered.

“A man called up our office. He told our secretary, ‘Sabihin mo dyan sa boss mo, ingat sila. Nabibilang na ang araw nila (Tell your boss to be careful. Their days are numbered),” she said.

Enzo, 32, was shot by a motorcycle-riding man while traveling on Congressional Avenue in Quezon City in June.
