Hyundai PH inaugurates Laguna facility

April 29,2015

hyundai-lagunaCALAMBA, Laguna—Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. (Hari) on Tuesday inaugurated the first phase of its P1.2-billion logistics center, aimed at consolidating the firms operations under a single roof.

“We were manning several operations in different locations before. It is high time for us to consolidate our operations so we could streamline the process flow and become more efficient and more productive, and so we can have better quality control,” Hari president and CEO  Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo said on the sidelines of Hyundai Logistics Center’s inauguration.

The development of the 10-hectare center, said to be the first green automotive logistics facility in the country, will be done in two phases.

The first phase, which costs P700 million, involves the construction of a logistics center. It houses the stockyard and warehouse operations capable to accommodate 5,000 vehicles at any given time.

The P500-million phase 2 development, which will start early next year, will see the construction  of a car museum and a 12-story office that will house the National Training Academy and the Center for Climate Change.

In the same event, Hari also launched the Hyundai i20 Cross Sport, which will be made available in June, and the all new Hyundai Tucson, which will be in the market by August at the earliest.

For this year, Hari has cut its sales forecast to 25,000 units from the original goal of 30,000 units.  The new target translates to a 5-percent growth from a year ago. –Amy R. Remo
