Mazda’s current lineup of passenger vehicles is outstanding, so much so that we might forget that it also has a pickup. The Mazda BT-50, already a winner for Truck of the Year-Philippines, is getting a facelift and upgrade.
The new BT-50 pickup gets a new front design, rear combination lamps, and aluminum alloy wheels. The interior also gets new equipment including a rear-view monitor. Mazda promises that the BT-50 will still have its “dynamic performance that achieves the joy of running.” The engines remain the same: 2.2-liter inline-4 or 3.2-liter inline-5, both turbodiesels.
New Mazda BT-50 is being assembled in Thailand at Mazda’s Auto Alliance facility, in preparation for its rollout in the second half of 2015. Thailand and Australia will see the launch first, followed by other markets.
