The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board has ordered a 30-day preventive suspension of the entire fleet of Valisno Express bus company after one of its buses figured in an accident Wednesday morning which killed four persons and left at least 30 persons injured.
In a statement issued through its official Twitter account, LTFRB Chairman Winston Ginez ordered the suspension of all 62 buses of Valisno Express which means their plates will be confiscated.
Ginez also ordered the buses to undergo road worthiness inspection.
“All drivers of Valisno will be required to (a) undergo road safety seminar; (b) drug test; (c) secure police and NBI clearance,” the order read.
A Valisno bus with the plate number TXV 715 heading to San Jose del Monte Ciy in Bulacan province slammed into the arch marking the Quezon City-Caloocan City boundary at Quirino Highway at around 7:20 a.m.
The driver of the bus, who has been identified as George Pacis, had fled the scene while its conductor Ferdinand Dacusan was brought to Tala Hospital along with other injured passengers. –Aries Joseph Hegina, IDL
