Honda revealed the seven-seat BR-V mini-SUV prototype at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2015. The new crossover vehicle has the appearance of an SUV, and the handling, space, and utility of an MPV, according to Honda. The styling features the prominent metal grille, upswept sides and curved window lines seen in recent company offerings such as the City, Brio and Mobilio.
The new Honda BR-V is powered by a 1.5-liter i-VTEC four-cylinder engine, paired with a six-speed manual or continuously variable transmission (CVT). The engine produces 120hp and 145 Nm.
Exterior features include high ground clearance, roof rails, LED taillights, and 16-inch aluminum wheels. Honda claims class-leading spaciousness and comfort for the seven-seat cabin, with ample knee and head room. Honda BR-V will feature multi-information trip computer, and front and rear aircon system.
Honda BR-V will feature ABS and EBD brakes, with vehicle stability assist and hill start assist. Dual front airbags, seatbelt pretensioners and Isofix child seat anchors will be available.
The new BR-V will launch in Indonesia in 2016, with other markets to follow. Honda BR-V will be marketed in Indonesia with a price range from Rp. 230 to 265 million (equivalent to around PHP771,000 to PHP888,600) and the booking will start from GIIAS onward. The production of Honda BR-V will start at HPM’s Karawang factory in January 2016.
