Expect flooding in some portions of Metro Manila and its nearby provinces as the state weather bureau raised yellow warning level in the said areas on Sunday morning.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said in its latest bulletin that flooding in low-lying areas of Quezon City, Caloocan, Malabon, and Navotas will be experienced as Typhoon “Lando” (international name: Koppu) continues to batter Luzon.
Yellow warning is also raised over Northern Rizal, Tarlac, and Zambales.
In Nueva Ecija, Pampanga and Bulacan, orange warning level was raised, which means flooding will be threatening in the affected provinces.
Meanwhile, light to moderate rains affecting Metro Manila, Bataan, Cavite, portions of Quezon, Laguna, Batangas and Rizal may persist for 2 to 3 hours.
Pagasa said that as of 10 a.m., the slow-moving typhoon weakened anew, packing maximum sustained winds of 150 kilometers per hour with gusts of up to 185 kph. -Julliane Love de Jesus, RAM
