SANTA FE, Nueva Vizcaya—Traffic gridlock stranded motorists who were headed back to work following the Lenten break because of road construction projects along the national road here.
Motorists were stuck in traffic for as long as 10 hours since Sunday evening, with the buildup of vehicles blocking stretches of single-lane roads. The traffic worsened when some vehicles suffered minor accidents and mechanical trouble near the sites of ongoing road reblocking projects.
Travelers also reported delays along road repair sites in Diadi, Bayombong, Bambang and Aritao towns, where the Department of Public Works and Highways is rushing numerous road projects. –Melvin Gascon, RAM
