Transport strike forces class suspensions Monday

Some schools have announced the suspension of classes and office work on Monday, Feb. 27, due to the scheduled transport strike of jeepney operators:

-Elementary and high school levels in National Capital Region (NCR)

-Elementary and high school levels in Bacolod City

-Elementary and high school levels in Legazpi City

-Elementary and high school levels in Iloilo City

-Adamson University (all classes and office work)

-Far Eastern University (all classes in Manila and Makati campuses)

-De La Salle University (all levels, including office work, in all campuses)

-De La Salle College of Saint Benilde (all classes and office work)

-De La Salle University — Science and Technology Complex Biñan (all classes)

-Colegio de San Juan de Letran Manila (all classes and office work)

-Lyceum of the Philippines University (all classes and office work)

-University of Santo Tomas (all classes and office work)

-Don Bosco Technical Institute Makati (all classes and office work)

-Manila Tytana Colleges (all classes and office work)

-Philippine Women’s University (all classes and office work in Manila and Quezon City campuses)

-University of San Agustin-Iloilo (all classes and office work)

-Bicol University (all classes)

-Aquinas University (all classes)

-West Visayas State University (all classes)

Transport groups PISTON, STOP and GO Coalition, and No To Jeepney Phase Out Coalition will hold a demonstration in Metro Manila and other cities nationwide on Monday to protest the government’s jeepney modernization program.

The same groups staged a similar strike earlier this month, which stranded passengers and forced suspension of classes.
