Metro Manila mayors are expected to tackle the unified ticketing system for traffic violations during their next meeting on Tuesday as the policymaking body of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
The measure is included in the agenda of the Metro Manila Council, Bong Nebrija, MMDA supervising officer for operations, said on Sunday during the agency’s weekly radio program.
The mayors have agreed to pass uniform ordinances on traffic violation fines and penalties. Currently, different penalty rates are imposed depending on where a motorist is apprehended and which enforcer issued the citation tickets. —Erika Sauler
