Elon Musk, multi-CEO, space exploration visionary and part of Trump’s economic and manufacturing advisory council, stated on a tweet that he has “no choice” but to leave his position should the United States President decide to withdraw from the Paris Agreement.

The tweet was posted in response to a question asked by one of his followers on Twitter.

Some time in May, Musk also tweeted that he was “cautiously optimistic of a positive decision” regarding the Paris Agreement issue. Musk said he had directly spoken with the President as well as many others in attempts to convince President Trump in keeping with the Paris Agreement.

The Paris Agreement, through international cooperation, sets specific goals for reducing climate change impact which results from the emission of greenhouse gasses. The commitment of countries such as the U.S. is critical, particularly because heavily industrialized nations such as the U.S. are the world’s largest emitters of greenhouse gases. JB
