Watch Your Car Files: The Bugatti of Watchwinders

October 19,2010

So you’ve gotten yourself a Bugatti Veyron Supersport—and the watch to go with it. What’s next? How about the Bugatti of watchwinders (literally)? The Origin Times Veyron watchwinder uses the car’s W16’s engine block to house 16 individual winder motors. From the 1001 bhp of the engine, it now is a silent repository of horological art.

The winder is controlled via a touch panel which incorporates an LED status-light system. Direction, start and stop timing and sleep modes are individually selectable according to a watch’s requirements. During stop and pause mode, each watch aligns at its 12 o’clock position.

Origintimes products are made in Germany, including motors and gears, which are made in-house.
And just how much do you have to shell out to avail of this wonder of watchwinder engineering? List price is €75,000 (about P5.15 million) plus VAT. Start saving up.
