The 7th edition of the Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) will be featuring car debuts, concept vehicles, and sneak peeks at some of the brands’ international offerings. The show will be featuring 17 brands during the five-day exhibit. Here are some of the new cars that you can see at the 2018 PIMS:
BMW
The driving machines from the German brand will be joined this year by new models, such as the 6 Series Gran Turismo, all-new X4 and M5, and the first-ever X2. The X2 brings distinctive styling, a premium interior and a dynamic driving performance to the subcompact crossover segment. The M5 is the iron fist in a velvet glove, a supercar-level performer clothed in a discreet and luxurious sedan body.
Toyota
Toyota will be showcasing a concept vehicle that debuted at last year’s Tokyo Motor Show, the TJ Cruiser. While not exactly a successor to the distinctive FJ Cruiser, the TJ Cruiser is more of a van-SUV combination. The small TJ Cruiser concept is designed to be powered by a 2.0-liter engine with hybrid drive, with optional all-wheel drive.
Honda
Honda has been on a roll lately, and it will have its latest cars such as the Civic Type R and the diesel-powered CR-V on stage.
Isuzu
Isuzu will have its mu-X Luxe, mu-X LS and its best-selling D-Max. The Isuzu modernized PUV and the modern truck EXZ QL.
Jaguar
Jaguar will have its latest crossover on stage, the E-Pace, together with the larger F-Pace. Sister brand Land Rover will show the Discovery and new Range Rover Velar. Mazda will be displaying the refreshed Mazda6 and flagship CX-9 Suv, both with Skyactiv engine and chassis technology.
Suzuki
Suzuki will have the much awaited Jimny subcompact SUV as well as the new Swift, Dzire and Vitara, positioned as economical, well-styled city vehicles.
Tata
Tata will have its new Super Ace Mint with Euro-IV standard engine. The versatile vehicle can be configured as a passenger van, school bus, or truck with alumimum van.
Mitsubishi
Mitsubishi Motors will bring in its e-Volution Concept and Outlander plug-in hybrid electric vehicle as well as the new Xpander.
Nissan
Nissan will show the world’s best-selling pure-electric vehicle, the Leaf, as well as the new Terra SUV, Navara, and X-Trail.
Ssangyong
A nameplate returns under Ssangyong: the Musso pickup, now positioned as a premium utility vehicle.
Volkswagen
Volkswagen will showcase its new lienup of sedans including the Santana 1.5. The Lamando will also be at the VW booth.
Foton
Foton will have its new commercial vehicles in its pavilion. These include the Gratour IM6 and TM, Tornado M5.2C light duty trucck, EST-400 tractor head, GTL 6×4 mixer truck, Hurricane ESTM 6×2 cargo, and GTL 8×4 high roof dump truck.
Daewoo
Daewoo will be showcasing its commercial vehicles such as the Bus BS120SN and truck with Euro 5 emission standard engine.
BAIC
BAIC will have its BJ20 compact crossover.
Fuso
Fuso will have its new trucks and light bus, the centerpiece of its PUV modernization program offering.
The 2018 PIMS is organized by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc and opens its doors on October 24-28 at the World Trade Center Metro Manila.
