The insistent clamor for Volvo’s newest baby has prompted the local Volvo dealer to ship a limited number of units just so local Volvo enthusiasts can have an up-close-and-personal encounter. Due to the outstanding qualities of this purebred Swedish stunner, however, the initial batch already found new homes in the Philippines. There is no cause for worry though as Volvo Philippines has opened its order books and continue to accept reservations for this highly anticipated premium SUV. Global XC40 orders already exceeded the 20,000 mark and continue to enjoy high demand.
Its birth means that for the first time, Volvo Cars has three new globally available SUVs in what is the fastest growing segment of the automotive market. This paves the way for further growth in sales and profitability.

The XC40 also offers a radically new approach to storage inside the car. Locally, the XC40 is available with 2.0L petrol four-cylinder Drive-E powertrain. Volvo PH is also looking into bringing in other powertrain options, including a hybridized, as well as, a pure electric version.
