THIS special version of the Subaru XV was first shown at the Manila International Auto Show earlier this year. Now, the model, called the XV GT Edition, has arrived in local Subaru showrooms.
Subaru distributor Motor Image Pilipinas (MIP) said the GT Edition is the sportier version of the XV crossover and is a product of a collaboration between engineering company Giken Co. Ltd and Masahiko “Jack” Kobayashi, former chief designer and head of Global Advanced Design Studio at Subaru Corp. Kobayashi is credited for the design language of at least 12 Subaru production models, including the Levorg sports tourer and WRX STI, according to MIP.
The company added that distinguishing the XV GT Edition — developed especially for Asia — are lip extensions on the front and rear bumpers, side skirts, unique 18-inch alloy wheels and special leather seats.
The car is also fitted with steering-responsive headlights, dual side-view monitors and Subaru’s X-Mode drive setting.
MIP said the XV GT Edition costs P1.768 million but it is offering a P50,000 discount for the first batch of models to be released.
