Basic car feng shui tips to get lucky this 2020
People are keen on finding out what the Chinese New Year beholds for them and the ways in which they can enhance their good fortune. An age old practice among the Chinese, feng shui is a popular custom that is believed to aid one in attaining favorable opportunities when done properly.
From architecture and fashion, to interior design and art, feng shui is about arranging one’s spaces, belongings, and other components of life to achieve harmony and balance. Yet, what might be a little known fact to many, is that one can easily integrate feng shui on cars. In fact, it is said that the basics of car feng shui is similar to those that are applied for the home.
In anticipation of the Chinese New Year, the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) team consulted with feng shui expert Maxima Tiu for some auspicious tips that will prove helpful for those in the automotive industry, as well as those who are planning to buy a vehicle this 2020.
Determine your reason
Consider the purpose why you seek to apply feng shui for your car. Is it because you want to attract good luck when using your car or do you simply wish to increase positive energy while you’re using the car? According to Tiu, this is the fundamental question that one should answer before moving forward with car feng shui.
Know your element
The next step is determining one’s element based on one’s animal sign or birth year. This information will then be used as a basis for the proper feng shui of the vehicle. The year of the Metal Rat follows the basic principles of five elements—wood, metal, fire, water, and earth.
The last digit of your lunar birth year will determine your element.
Metal: Birth years ending in 0 or 1, Water: Birth years ending in 2 or 3, Wood: Birth years ending in 4 or 5, Fire: Birth years ending in 6 or 7, Earth: Birth years ending in 8 or 9
Apply the feng shui forecast
Once all the preparatory steps have been accomplished, it’s time to apply feng shui. According to Tiu, there are lucky colors assigned for each element for the Year of the Rat. This guide can help one attract positive energy and likewise ward off negative and unfavorable incidents.
For the Wood element, lucky colors are green and red while the off colors or colors to avoid is white. For the Metal element, one may opt for cars in white, silver, gold, black, blue, and green. On the other hand, colors to avoid are bright ones such as red, yellow, and orange.
For those under the Fire element, one must stick to colors such as red, yellow, and orange while colors of green, blue, and black must be avoided. For the water element, go for cars in shades of blue, black, and green while staying away from red, yellow, and orange. Lastly, those under the Earth element must stick to white, red, and brown while avoiding green, black, and blue.
According to Tiu, the same rules apply even when simply choosing car accent colors and accessories. However, Tiu cautions that car feng shui tips only serve as a guide and protection. At the end of the day, success still relies on one’s actions and attitude towards life.
