MIAS 2014: Subaru launches all-new WRX and WRX STI

Subaru Philippines has launched the all-new WRX and WRX STI performance sedans at the 10^th Manila International Auto Show (MIAS). Subaru has numerous activities for MIAS guests, including its Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive off-road course at the World Trade Center front lawn, and the Russ Swift precision driving show at the rear driveway. Swift will be using new cars for his jaw-dropping display of driving skills, including some surprises as to his vehicle choices for the performance.

A tenacious performer, the all-new 2015 Subaru WRX is a responsive thrill that hits every apex with unrelenting precision. Built on the concept of “Pure Power in Your Control”, the all-new WRX reigns in the intense power and superior environmental friendliness of the 2.0-litre Subaru boxer engine with a body and chassis thoroughly stiffened.

The new WRX features LED headlamps with auto leveling, rain-sensing windshield wipers, trunklid lip spoiler, rear diffuser and dual twin muffler, 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels, power folding mirrors with LED signal lamps,

The all-new WRX isn’t limited to pavement thanks to its capable Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, ensuring it can handle all kinds of fun in a variety of conditions. Under the hood, an all-new, twin-scroll turbocharged, direct-injection 2.0-litre Subaru boxer engine pumps out 268 horsepower. And just like WRX redefined the 4-door performance sports car, its new Sport Lineartronic Transmission is changing what’s possible. With this new powertrain, pure performance is available at any time, in any gear.

This 2.0-litre, 16-valve, turbocharged unit delivers thrilling driving performance throughout the rev range. A 2.5-litre turbocharged Subaru BOXER Engine generating 221 kW and 407 Nm of torque provide electrifying acceleration. The engine also benefits from the Dual Active Valve Control System (Dual AVCS), which helps to produce a flat torque curve across a wide rev range.
