Lateral Drift Round 2 races on Sunday at Libis Mega Tent

Catch Round 2 of this year’s Hyundai Lateral Drift Pro-Am Championship Series, the first and only drift series in the Philippines, on Sunday, July 13, at the Mega Tent in Libis. Watch Round 1 champion John Boban of team Nankang Tires with his 550 Horse power drift car, as he tries to smoke the rest of the competition. Ready to challenge him are defending 2013 HLD champion Gio Rodriguez of team Atoycustom’s, six-time LD Champion Alex Perez of team Yellow Cab, and Mark Bernardo of team Concept One/Saffiro tires. Meanwhile, the youngest drifter in the Pro series, 16-year-old Luis Gono of team Autoplus, and the rest of the Pro drivers are ready to take the event and the spectators by storm.

Not to be outdone are drifters in the Amateurs Series led by newcomer, 17-year-old Peter Schroth who surprised everyone by topping Round 1.

Admission to this Sunday’s Round 2 of the Hyundai Lateral Drift Pro-Am Championship Series is free. Gates at the Megatent, Libis will open at 10 AM.

Be one of the lucky spectators to experience a shotgun drive on the Hyundai Genesis Coupe with the event’s drift judges.

The series opened with heart-stopping night action last May 31 at the Megatent in Libis, Quezon City, featuring official drift car, the Hyundai Genesis Coupe on hyperformance, and guest Japanese drift couple, Hiromi Kajikuma and Kimihiro Obata.

Emerging as winners in Round 1 for the Pro division were John Boban (1st Place), Alex Perez (2nd place), and Gio Rodriguez (3rd place).

Peter Schroth (1st place), Kar Montaner (2nd place), and Stephen Ng (3rd place) topped the Amateur Division.
